St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch is presenting evidence to a grand jury to determine whether criminal charges should be filed. A separate federal civil rights investigation is being performed by the FBI and Justice Department to include a third autopsy.

Undisputed information thus far indicates that Michael Brown was 18 years old when he was shot by Officer Wilson. He was unarmed when he was shot. All casings at the scene were from Officer Wilson’s gun. One shot was fired inside the car. The remainder struck Brown approximately 35 feet from the Officer’s vehicle though it is not clear if the officer was still near the vehicle.

A private autopsy performed on behalf of the family revealed six gunshot wounds all with entry points on the front of the body. A shot to the head was the likely fatal shot and indicated the head was slightly downward. Brown was clearly facing the officer when the shots were fired. The shot to the top of the head could indicate he was falling, running toward the officer, or leaning down in submission.

Witness accounts of the shooting conflict. Some witnesses say Brown was shot in the back, but the private autopsy clearly indicates that is not the case. Some witnesses say Brown was surrendering with his hands up while others confirm police statements that Brown was charging Officer Wilson. Police may have photographic evidence from one witness that has not been released, but may be critical in sorting out the facts.Liberty Takes Efforthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13398225334133635697noreply@blogger.com
