I cut the "Social ...What a great observation! I cut the "Social Shift..." article from the News-Press<br />Views section. Thank you for taking the time to share the ongoing disengagement in society. Oddly, I went in a different direction and say the social disconnect as an evolutionary function-a nomal, expected perhaps to be praised phenomenon. In the 50's television and cars expanded the individuals world, now the internet and cell phones has resulted in even more reasons for it to continue. If we move from middle-ring associations to outer ring casual thats<br />probably OK- I live in an (almost gated) adult community in Fort Myers-if I chose only my associations from my neighborhood, my sense of belonging is great but my world exposure would be small.
